The Ministry of Defence has spent £53 million on new optical equipment for troopers. The night-vision and laser tools will allow troopers to identify potential threats earlier and higher shield themselves in opposition to the enemy throughout day and evening operations. A state-of-the-art laser mild that may illuminate targets from as much as 800 metres away might be supplied to all infantry troopers.
