First Manufacturing Contract Awarded for MQ-25A Stingray – The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a $562 million contract for the primary manufacturing batch of the MQ-25A Stingray, marking a significant step towards placing the carrier-based unmanned plane into operational service. With Milestone C approval behind it, the Navy is shifting the Stingray from improvement into manufacturing, with the primary Lot 1 deliveries anticipated in 2029. Designed primarily for aerial refueling, the MQ-25A will prolong the vary of service air wings whereas releasing F/A-18E/F Tremendous Hornets from tanker duties.
