The 605th Check and Analysis Squadron, Detachment 1 welcomed their new commander, Maj. Katherine Maier, throughout a change of command ceremony, Tinker Air Pressure Base, Oklahoma, June 13.


The change of command is a army custom, representing a proper switch of a unit’s authority and duty from one commander to a different.  Lt. Col. Carly Sims, 605th Check and Analysis Squadron commander, presided over the ceremony.


“We’re glad to have Maj. Maier be a part of the 605th TES management group.  She is a command-and-control professional with in depth developmental and operational check expertise; the correct individual to steer Detachment 1, as we proceed to modernize the E-3 [Airborne Warning and Control System] and put together for way forward for the E-7 [Wedgetail],” stated Sims.
