SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Practically 70 models are anticipated to participate in South Charleston’s 62nd Armed Forces Day Parade Saturday afternoon on D Road.

The parade begins at midday.

Formally named the Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Armed Forces Day Parade, the occasion’s line-up will embrace greater than 30 navy models, South Charleston Conference and Guests Bureau Government Director Vicki Vaughan mentioned.

“It’s going to be a really massive parade,” Vaughan mentioned. “South Charleston has at all times been happy with its navy.”

The CVB will hand out small American flags for kids to wave because the models move by on D Road.

The parade marshal is retired Army Vietnam veteran Ernest ‘Bud’ Samples. Vaughan mentioned it’s the primary time the parade has had a Army Vietnam veteran as marshal.
