On the age of 24 Ken Sturdy landed on Sword Seashore with the lads of 41 Commando Royal Marines.
He was a signalman with the Royal Navy tasked with sending very important messages again to the ships within the Channel.
Now aged 94 he recounted sixth June 1944 to Rebecca Ricks from his residence in Torquay.
