It has emerged that 288 army canine have been put down by the MOD up to now three years. Figures for January 2010 to June this yr present 81 have been resulting from outdated age, 61 had osteoarthritis and 33 had harmful temperaments.
The Ministry of Defence insists its canine are solely ever put down as a final resort.
The MoD says it makes each effort to re-home the animals and people which can be put down are judged to have a situation that might affect on their high quality of life.
