California Army Base Locked Down After Car Runs Gate

CORONADO, Calif. (AP) — A California navy base was put in lockdown Friday evening after a automobile went via the power’s important gate with out stopping, a navy spokesperson stated.

Naval Base Coronado spokesperson Kevin Dixon instructed KNSD-TV that the motive force was taken into custody by base guards after the “gate runner” drove with out stopping via the doorway of Naval Air Station North Island, a part of Naval Base Coronado.

A number of patrol vehicles surrounded the doorway close to third Road and Alameda Boulevard in Coronado round 10:30 p.m., KNSD-TV reported.

A number of gates on the air station close to San Diego have been closed whereas safety personnel checked the power, Dixon stated.

The Coronado Police Division have been investigating the incident with navy police, KNSD-TV reported.

Naval Air Station North Island is considered one of eight U.S. navy installations that make up Naval Base Coronado.
