Army alerts some Oahu residents of noise disturbances throughout army coaching


HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The U.S. Army is alerting residents close to Schofield Barracks of potential noise disturbances throughout army coaching in June.

Officers stated army models are scheduled to conduct important coaching actions which may be heard by surrounding communities. If loud noises are heard, the Army stated there isn’t a instant hazard.

The army stated the scheduled coaching could change relying on security, climate and environmental elements.

The June schedule goes as follows:

  • June 1-7: Army mortar coaching. It should happen throughout daytime and nighttime hours.
  • June 18-24: Army artillery coaching, which can happen throughout daytime and nighttime hours.
  • June 1-10 and 27-30: Army Lightning Academy coaching with clean ammunition and explosive simulators, Schofield Barracks East Vary. Helicopter operations may even happen June 2, 7 and 9.

Throughout coaching operations, residents might even see brilliant orange lights within the sky as a result of mortar coaching.
