Army Stands Up New Command to Present International Counterintelligence Assist

The U.S. Army has activated a brand new command tasked with offering counterintelligence help that aligns with the Division of Protection modernization efforts.

The Army Counterintelligence Command conducts counterintelligence actions to establish and neutralize insider threats dealing with the Army and DOD forces worldwide, the service department stated Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Rhett Cox took over the duty of the ACIC as its first commanding basic throughout a ceremony on the command’s headquarters at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland.

Cox, a graduate of Virginia Navy Institute, was commissioned within the U.S. Army Navy Intelligence Corps and has been assigned to numerous navy models, together with the tenth Mountain Division, the 513th Navy Intelligence Brigade and the 704th MI Brigade.

“At present’s navy atmosphere is outlined by fast technological change and intense strategic competitors from our adversaries. We should do our half to make sure we’re competing, imposing prices and shake our enemy’s perception that they’ll function uncontested,” Cox stated.
