By Vugar Khalilov

Baku has urged the worldwide neighborhood to exert stress on
Armenia to make sure that it fulfills its worldwide obligations,
Azernews experiences, citing the Overseas Ministry.

Stress needs to be exerted on Armenia to make sure that it fulfills
its obligations underneath the trilateral declaration and worldwide
legislation, which embody ceasing actions that endanger Azerbaijan’s
sovereignty and territorial integrity, finally withdrawing all
of its navy forces from Azerbaijani territory, ceasing
indiscriminately planting mines, cooperating in demining
initiatives, and offering Azerbaijan with correct mine maps.
These efforts will assist to make sure regional peace and safety, the
ministry emphasised.

The ministry emphasised that Armenia’s deliberate mine-planting
actions, each throughout and after the 30 years of occupation, are
the primary obstacles to Azerbaijan’s reconstruction actions in
liberated territories, posing a menace to civilians and navy
personnel’s lives and impeding the return of internally displaced
Azerbaijanis to their homelands.

Armenia continues its unlawful navy actions within the
Azerbaijani territories in violation of paragraph 4 of the
Trilateral assertion (November 10, 2020) by failing to totally
withdraw its navy forces and planting numerous
anti-personnel mines there, which ends up in the expansion of the quantity
of landmines not solely alongside the previous line of contact but additionally in
different areas, the ministry underlined.

“Basically, over the previous 30 years, the variety of victims of
mine explosions in Azerbaijan amounted to three,345 folks. A complete of
266 residents grew to become landmine victims, of which 48 folks died,
together with three reporters from the top of the Second Karabakh Conflict.
Of the 45 useless, 35 are civilians. Furthermore, 38 girls and 357
kids grew to become the victims of landmines over the previous 30 years,”
the ministry detailed.

Moreover, the invention of over 1,400 E-001M mines
manufactured in Armenia in 2021 in Lachin District following the
unlawful Armenian settlers’ departure from the town, in addition to new
booby traps put in on the doorsteps of homes and in courtyards
in Zabukh and Sus villages on October 3, exhibit Armenia’s
critical menace to regional peace and safety.

The location of mines on Azerbaijani soil reveals that, regardless of
the truth that the Lachin hall is designed solely for the
transit of residents, commodities, and autos, as acknowledged in
paragraph 6 of the tripartite declaration, Armenia continues to
exploit it for illegal navy actions. Moreover, it
demonstrates that allegations that Armenia has neither created nor
offered landmines in latest many years are false, the ministry
underlined.

It was recalled that the key purpose for the navy clashes
on the state border on September 13-14 was the provocation of the
Armenian armed forces to place mines on Azerbaijani navy models’
provide street.

The ministry acknowledged that the accuracy of the mine maps supplied
by Armenia following the signing of the trilateral assertion on
November 10, 2020, is barely 25 %. Roughly, 55 %
of latest mine explosions have occurred in mined areas which might be
not indicated on the maps, the existence of which Armenia initially
denied, it added.

The mentioned proof demonstrates that Armenia continues posing
threats towards Azerbaijan. Armenia’s conduct is a warfare crime, a
important breach of worldwide humanitarian legislation and its personal
commitments, and the nation needs to be pressured to cease it, the
ministry pressured.

Azerbaijan has constantly requested that efforts needs to be
mobilized to eradicate these risks and provides large-scale help
to its humanitarian demining operations.

On this regard, on August 23, 2022, the Azerbaijani overseas
minister addressed a corresponding letter to UN Secretary-Basic
Antonio Guterres, which was distributed amongst all UN members.

Azerbaijan additionally formally supplied info to the
Worldwide Courtroom of Justice relating to Armenia’s ongoing mining
of its territories in September 2022, which clearly contradicts
the courtroom’s short-term choices of December 7, 2021.
