A local of Charlotte, NC, Matt graduated from U.S. Naval Academy in 1991 with a B.S. in Ocean Engineering. He graduated Primary Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) coaching in 1992 with class 179 and was subsequently assigned to the East Coast the place he served in numerous SEAL Groups, SEAL Supply Automobile Groups and Naval Particular Warfare Improvement Group (NSWDG). Matt commanded at each degree within the Naval Particular Warfare Group to incorporate a Squadron at NSWDG, SEAL Staff TWO, Naval Particular Warfare Unit THREE, and Naval Particular Warfare Group FOUR. He served employees excursions on the Joint Particular Operations Command in Fort Bragg, NC; because the Operations Officer at Naval Particular Warfare Group TWO in Virginia Seaside, VA; and within the Workplace of the Assistant Secretary of Protection for Particular Operations and Low-Depth Battle (ASD SO/LIC) within the Pentagon.
