FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A former Navy rescue swimmer is charged with tried homicide after Florida authorities say he virtually drowned a safety guard in a condominium’s swimming pool.
Okaloosa County sheriff’s investigators say late Friday the safety guard informed Seth Beavers, 33, of Mount Sterling, Illinois, that the pool on the Panhandle condominium was closed and he must depart.
The safety guard informed investigators that Beavers attacked him, wrapped his leg round him and dragged him into the pool, saying he would drown him.
