For The First Time In 13 Years, U.S. Deploys 7 Plane Carriers Concurrently
The US has concurrently deployed 7 of the 11 U.S. nuclear plane carriers for the primary time in over a decade in line with the US Naval Institute. The three plane carriers with full air wings and strike teams positioned within the Western Pacific are the next: USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76); USS Nimitz (CVN-68); USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). One other 4 are conducting “quick coaching missions as a part of coaching operations or workups forward of deployment”. Two out of 4 are working in Jap Pacific – USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) – and the remaining two are working within the Atlantic, the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78).
