The ultimate Merlin helicopter has left Afghanistan, two months after the plane’s deployment completed.
Sixteen technicians labored to take away put together the Merlin for the journey house, eradicating its rotors so it might match inside a C-17 transporter airplane.
The fleet clocked up 18,500 flying hours, moved 7,900 tonnes of cargo and carried 130,000 troops in the course of the two years it operated in Afghanistan.
