Forces TV Goes Aboard HMS Bulwark

Having performed its largest rescue so far, HMS Bulwark is returning to sea on standby to avoid wasting extra migrants.

The operation over the weekend noticed seven boats rescued by Bulwark, two extra by the Italians, with the migrants then loaded onto the Royal Navy ship destined for Catania.

The ship’s firm of 450 has labored tirelessly since deploying on Operation Weald in April – from the cooks cooking for the migrants to the Royal Marines working the touchdown craft that rescue them. And when the migrants are onboard they’re watched over by the crew in four-hour shifts.

HMS Bulwark is collectively taking care of a 78,000 sq. mile space – one thing Captain Nick Cooke-Priest mentioned can be close to unattainable to patrol across the clock and to not miss one boat.
