Gurkhas Rejoice Holi Competition Of Colors

Gurkha recruits in Catterick have been celebrating the Hindu pageant of colors often called Holi.

It marks the start of spring and symbolises new beginnings. It is a time to place conflicts and worries behind you and to start out afresh.

It commemorates the story of Prahlada, which is seen to symbolise good overcoming evil.

To rejoice, folks throw brightly colored paints or liquids at one another.

No-one is spared from the festivities, not even the Gurkha instructors or the Officer Commanding!
