Ceremonies & Particular Occasions

Could 27-30: Discipline of Honor, Open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Sunday;  9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday at Hoosic Valley Central College soccer discipline, 1548 Route 67, Schaghticoke. A dedication ceremony will start with a parade at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The closing ceremony will start at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Could 28: Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga Nationwide Cemetery’s Memorial Day Ceremony. 11 a.m. Saturday, 200 Duell Highway Schuylerville. Cemetery Director Scott Lamb will host occasions that can embody shade and guards, a keynote handle, a flyover by the 109th Airwing, ringing of the USS Saratoga bell, music, a canon salute and benediction. Parades

Could 25: City of Colonie’s inaugural Memorial Day parade. 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, on the Crossings of Colonie, 580 Albany Shaker Highway. Native veterans, army teams, the Shaker Excessive College marching band and native scouting models will take part. A ceremony shall be held at 6 p.m. on the city of Colonie Veterans Memorial on the park and can characteristic audio system, city officers and musical performances.

Could 25: City of Waterford parade. Steps off at 7 p.m. Wednesday from Grace Road, Waterford. Grand marshals are Thomas Catallo and Frank Grimmelli, each 98 and the final identified dwelling World Struggle II veterans in Waterford. Study extra.

Could 28: Ballston Spa Memorial Day Parade. 9 a.m. Saturday, steps off from Milton Avenue, proceeds via city to Veterans Park. Naval ceremony at bridge at JJ’s Snack Bar.

Could 30: Albany Memorial Day Parade. Steps off at 8 a.m. Monday at 900 Central Ave.

Could 30:  Village of Hoosick Falls Memorial Day Parade. Hosted by the Hoosick Publish 40 American Legion and stepping off at 10 a.m. Monday, Could 30 at Wooden Park. Providers at village monuments will start at 8 a.m. from the park. 

Could 30: Castleton-Schodack Memorial Day Parade. 10 a.m. Monday Could 30 will step off on the nook of Boltwood and Seaman avenues and can conclude with a ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery. 5 divisions with the VFW Publish 7337 will lead, veterans and Gold Star Moms shall be honored. Korean battle veteran James Gibbons shall be grand marshal.
