Navy to march via Eastwood and mark historic day for the city


The Freedom of Entry parade will happen in June.

On Wednesday, June 22, troopers and veterans from the 170 (Infrastructure Help) Engineer Group will march via the city centre to train their Freedom of the Borough and have a good time the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The city can be wearing purple, white and blue bunting and residents and companies are urged to take to the streets to cheer on its Army heroes as they march via the centre at 1.30pm.

Councillor Milan Radulovic MBE, chief of Broxtowe Borough Council, mentioned: “After the social restrictions over the previous few years, I’m thrilled that we are able to deliver this occasion to the borough as a approach to honour our armed forces and her majesty the Queen.

“Their devotion to serving others is outstanding and I do know that Eastwood will give them the rousing welcome that they deserve.”

The parade will even fall throughout Armed Forces Week and is a chance for the unit to train their Freedom of the Borough, which was bestowed on them in 2009.

Freedom of Entry permits army items to march via the borough in recognition of their excellent achievements, dedication and dedication within the service of this nation and as an expression of the excessive regard by which they’re held by the council and members of the group.

Because the route can be closed for the parade, there can be some visitors disruption.
