NHL-bound goaltender Ivan Fedotov was detained in Russia for dodging the draft and despatched to serve within the Arctic, state media reported Sunday.
Fedotov, 25, was detained Friday in St. Petersburg on the request of the army prosecutor’s workplace, based on the town’s Fontanka.ru information web site.
He was reportedly hospitalized after falling ailing with what his lawyer known as stress-induced gastritis.
“Ivan was allegedly despatched from the hospital to Severomorsk at evening,” lawyer Alexei Ponomaryov informed the sports activities.ru web site early Sunday.
