Putin praises Russian forces for taking Luhansk area


Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Russian troops for “reaching victory” in Ukraine’s Luhansk area.

In a gathering televised by Russian state media on Monday, Protection Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin the Russian advances within the space.

“Beginning June 19, [Russian] formations and army models … in cooperation with models of the second corps of the individuals’s militia of the [self-proclaimed] Luhansk Folks’s Republic (LPR) and with the help of the southern group of troops … efficiently carried out an offensive operation to liberate the territory of the Luhansk Folks’s Republic,” Shoigu mentioned.

Shoigu added that the “Gorsky cauldron” space, Lysychansk and Severodonetsk had been surrounded inside two weeks, and the Ukrainian military allegedly misplaced 5,469 troopers within the battles. 

Putin advised Shoigu that the army personnel who contributed to combating in LPR, shall be rewarded for his or her “bravery,” and that they need to now “relaxation.”
