Ray McPadden is a four-tour fight veteran who served as a floor drive commander within the elite 2nd Ranger Battalion through the Iraq and Afghan wars. He was awarded a Purple Coronary heart, two Bronze Stars, and a medal for valor. A former Pat Tillman Navy Scholar, he’s the writer of the acclaimed novel And the Entire Mountain Burned, winner of the W. Y. Boyd Literary Award for excellence in army fiction in 2019. He lives in Livingston, Montana, along with his spouse and kids.
