Rebels helped navy get well 6 weapons: report

THE navy reported that the six former members of the New Folks’s Army who surrendered to the First Special Forces Battalion revealed six high-powered firearms in Pangantucan, Bukidnon Sunday.

In its report, former members of an NPA group guided the navy items to the place the weapons have been hidden.

On the give up of the previous rebels, Second Lieutenant Cristy Timtim, Civil-Navy Operations officer of the battalion, stated that they reached out to Mayor Miguel A Silva Jr of Pangantucan, Bukidnon and the latter facilitated their give up.

With the assistance of the previous rebels, the navy unit recovered M14 Rifle, three M16 Rifles, AK 47 Rifle, one (1) RPG Launcher, M653 Carbine, ammunitions, journal meeting, IED switches, binocular, and handheld radio on Sunday.

The navy then offered money help to the previous rebels as they have been processing their paperwork and whereas present process custodial debriefing.

Lt Col Roger Anthony Nuylan Jr., battalion commander, thanked the rebels for his or her cooperation and advised them to avail of the financial bundle offered to them by the federal government.
