Saab to produce Carl-Gustaf ammunition and AT4 to U.S. armed forces

Swedish firm Saab introduced that it had obtained an order for Carl-Gustaf ammunition and AT4CS RS programs for U.S. Armed Forces. The order worth is USD 81.8 million and deliveries will happen throughout 2024.

The Carl-Gustaf ammunition and AT4 programs inside this order shall be utilized by the U.S. Army, U.S. Particular Operations Command (SOCOM) and U.S. Marine Corps.

Saab’s Carl-Gustaf system (designated MAAWS within the U.S.) has an extended file with the U.S. army. The reloadable, multi-purpose system has been in service within the U.S. since 1990 and a program of file for the U.S. Army since 2013. 

 In 2018, the U.S. Army introduced it might purchase the most recent model of the weapon, the Carl-Gustaf M4 (designated M3A1 within the U.S).
