Sweden buys 2 Saab AEW&C aircraft, with options for 2 more

STOCKHOLM, Sweden. The Swedish Defence Materials Administration has bought two GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning and Management (AEW&C) plane from producer Saab, with choices to buy two extra, in response to an organization assertion.

The contract, which can final from 2022-2027, is value SEK 7.3 billion ($705 million USD). The GlobalEye is constructed off the International 6000 plane and options the Erieye Prolonged Vary radar, in addition to a set of sensors and a command and management programs.

The plane supplies airborne situational consciousness to army models within the Air Drive, Army, and Navy. It can be used for civilian duties, similar to rescue missions throughout pure disasters.

The work shall be carried out in Sweden, Finland, and South Africa.
