It has been 44-years since a bitter civil warfare in Cyprus divided its capital. One constructing caught within the crossfire of the battle was the Ledra Palace Lodge, which is now used as a barracks within the midst of the 112-mile-long buffer zone. It was as soon as the one five-star resort in Cyprus, welcoming the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
