Turkiye doesn’t want permission for Syria navy op, minister says – Center East Monitor


Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar mentioned his nation doesn’t want permission to hold out navy operations in opposition to the Kurdistan Staff’ Get together (PKK) and the Folks’s Defence Units (YPG) in northern Syria.

In remarks to the Italian Il Messaggero newspaper revealed yesterday, Akar mentioned the PKK targets the safety and security of Turkish lands, including that Ankara’s navy operations in northern Syria are primarily based on Article 51 of the United Nations Constitution, which provides Turkiye the proper to defend itself.
