U.S. Naval Forces Advances Interoperability Search and Rescue Train with the Royal Bahrain Navy > United States Navy > News Tales

The Sentinel-class quick response cutter, USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142), a U.S. rigid-hull Inflatable boat, and the Royal Bahrain Navy’s patrol craft Al Farooq (PC 43) rendezvoused at sea and performed a wide range of search and rescue procedures together with a simulated man over-board drill and small boat operations.

This was the primary time the Royal Bahrain Navy’s patrol craft Al Farooq (PC 43) performed a search and rescue train with the U.S. naval forces enhancing interoperability and maritime abilities for each forces.

SAR workouts like these symbolize the robust bilateral operations and workouts between the U.S. and Royal Bahrain Navy.

Quick response cutters have excessive maneuverability capabilities and may attain speeds upwards of 28 knots with the flexibility to launch small boats from the strict, making them optimum for search and rescue operations.

Headquartered in Manama, Bahrain, NAVCENT consists of U.S. forces working within the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Purple Sea, elements of the Indian Ocean and three essential choke factors on the Strait of Hormuz, Suez Canal and Bab al-Mandeb.
