USS Sioux Metropolis (LCS 11) Arrives in Fredericia, Denmark > United States Navy > News-Tales

After finishing operations in U.S. Fifth Fleet, Sioux Metropolis arrived in U.S. Sixth Fleet as a part of a historic deployment to each fleets. The ship’s arrival in U.S. Sixth Fleet demonstrates the U.S. Navy’s continued dedication to the collective protection of European areas and reinforces the robust bond between the USA and the Kingdom of Denmark. 

“We’re very excited to be again within the Sixth Fleet space of operations and we look ahead to conducting workout routines with our maritime companions to make sure regional maritime stability,” stated Cmdr. Justin Neff, govt officer of Sioux Metropolis. “Our ships motto is ‘Forging a New Frontier’, and that’s what we intend to do right here within the Sixth Fleet as we present what the littoral fight ship can deliver to the battle.” 

Sioux Metropolis started its deployment to the Fifth and Sixth Fleet space of operations after departing Naval Station Mayport, Fla., Apr. 25, 2022. Previous to arriving in Fredericia, Sioux Metropolis sailed by means of the Mediterranean, North Atlantic, and North Seas and made stops in Augusta Bay, Italy; Rota, Spain; and Zeebrugge, Belgium.
