The navy’s Joint Helicopter Command unit has been referred to as in to revive a 200-year-old icon of the Wiltshire panorama. The Alton Barnes White Horse has presided over the hills there since its creation by a farmer in 1812, and native residents in Wiltshire determined it wanted some restoration. The navy was referred to as in to assist transport the 46 tonnes of chalk wanted for the job.
