At Final A Last Resting Place For WW1 Veteran

For many years Sergeant William Duguid, a veteran of the Somme has lain in an unmarked grave in an Edinburgh cemetery.

The First World Struggle left him and his household in dire straits so he was buried in 1929 in an unmarked grave in Piershill cemetary.

Nonetheless now he has a model new memorial recognising his position in the course of the First World Struggle.

The McCrae’s Battalion Belief have been fundraising for this memorial, a correct tribute to a rare man.

In entrance of veterans, descendants of Royal Scots troopers and serving members of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, his life and bravado was celebrated.
