CMF-assigned Cutter Seizes Cannabis and Methamphetamines in North Arabian Sea > United States Navy > News Tales

It was the third seizure by a CMF-assigned cutter in 4 days, following seizures by USCGC Clarence Sutphin Jr. (WPC 1147) and USCGC John Scheuerman (WPC 1146) of cannabis, heroin, methamphetamines and drugs with a complete estimated road worth of $24.5 million Dec. 24 and Dec. 26 within the Gulf of Oman.

A group from USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142), a Sentinel-class cutter, boarded a dhow at roughly 6:30 a.m. native time Dec. 28 after it displayed indicators in step with illicit drug trafficking.

Aboard, the group found over 300 baggage of medicine containing 3,514 kilograms of cannabis and 417 kilograms of methamphetamines.

The Robert Goldman group launched the dhow and disposed of the illicit medication.

The mission of Mixed Process Power 150 is to disrupt the flexibility of non-state actors to maneuver weapons or medication, or have interaction in different illicit actions, within the Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean.

This interdiction marked the twelfth time Mixed Process Power 150 belongings have seized unlawful narcotics at sea since France took command in July 2023.
