The primary three destroyers have been assembled by BAE Methods Floor Fleet Options from partially prefabricated “blocks” constructed at completely different shipyards; the remaining three have been constructed by BAE Methods Maritime Naval Ships. The primary ship within the Daring class, HMS Daring, was launched on 1 February 2006 and commissioned on 23 July 2009.
