Personnel from the 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment in Cyprus have gone again in time to commemorate the Battle of Meeanee. Every February, the Mercians rejoice their Regimental Day, marking certainly one of their most historic fight honours. The bayonet cost was a decisive issue of the battle, and modern-day troops have used the weapon through the commemorations.
