Following completion of a four-week composite coaching unit train, Truxtun deployed in August 2022 alongside the Nimitz-class plane service USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Farragut (DDG 99) and USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119), and the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55).
Truxtun entered U.S. fifth Fleet in December 2022.
