69 years in the past British troopers got here head to head with the horrors of the Nazi loss of life camps. As allied forces started to liberate survivors the true scale of the systematic genocide of thousands and thousands of Jews was revealed to a shocked world.
One girl who survived the ordeal is Gena Turgel. She was incarcerated in three focus camps, survived a visit to the fuel chamber and was compelled to march between camps in bitterly chilly temperatures.
